Punta Sabbioni's Lighthouse

Punta Sabbioni's Lighthouse

Faro Pagoda

The Pagoda Lighthouse of Punta Sabbioni, located at the westernmost point of the Cavallino-Treporti coastline, is a distinctive structure that serves as a landmark for ships transiting towards the Venice lagoon. Its construction began in 1882 and was only completed in 1910.

The 26-meter-high lighthouse is known for its metal structure in the shape of a pagoda, with terraces painted in black and white checkered patterns. After suffering damage from a storm in 1966, it was electrified in 1969 and automated in 1974, with a light signal visible up to 15 nautical miles.

Today, it continues to play its role as a guide for maritime navigation.
