Lungomare degli Armeni
Lungomare degli Armeni, known among the residents of Cavallino-Treporti as the "pink wall," offers a magnificent view of the Venetian lagoon. In the distance, you can spot Burano, famous for its colorful houses, and just beyond, Torcello, with its campanile in a late Paleo-Christian architectural style.
The promenade is named after the historical presence of the Mechitarist Armenian Fathers in the area. Since 1889, the Mechitarists owned land and properties, including the village of Lio Piccolo, which was used as a place for meditation and prayer. In addition to managing the land, they contributed to the construction of buildings, leaving an important cultural and spiritual legacy.
This route is ideal for those seeking a moment of relaxation, with opportunities to stop and admire the lagoon and enjoy a charming panorama, especially captivating at sunset. It’s also perfect for peaceful walks and is one of the most iconic scenic spots in the area.
