Venice entry fee 2025: Everything you need to know

Who needs to pay the entry fee and on which days?
Applicable Dates:
The entry fee will be required on specific days between April and July 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. For the exact dates, please visit the official website https://cda.ve.it.
Who has to pay the fee?
The entry fee applies to anyone visiting the Historic City of Venice during the specified days and times, mainly on weekends and other high-tourist traffic days.
For the year 2025, the entry fee does not apply to visitors traveling to the smaller lagoon islands, such as Murano, Burano, or Torcello.
If your journey is solely to the lagoon islands or you transit through Venice without stopping in the Historic City (e.g., to reach Punta Sabbioni), you are not required to pay the fee.
Practical Examples:
- Route: Santa Lucia Train Station → Punta Sabbioni: If you arrive at Venice Santa Lucia train station and continue directly to Punta Sabbioni by boat without visiting the Historic City, you are exempt from the fee.
- Visit to the Historic City: If you decide to visit the Historic City during your transit, you are required to pay the fee unless you qualify for an exemption.
- Route: Punta Sabbioni → Burano/Torcello/Murano: If your excursion to the islands does not include a stop in Venice's Historic City between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, you do not need to pay the fee.
