La Piazza delle Arti 2026: Theatre, Dance and Major Names in Cavallino-Treporti
A Cultural Festival Becoming a Local Point of Reference
With its fourth edition, La Piazza delle Arti further strengthens its role within the cultural landscape of Cavallino-Treporti and the Venetian coastline. Supported by the Municipality of Cavallino-Treporti, the Festival presents a rich programme of theatre, dance and performing arts, confirming a project that continues to grow year after year while maintaining a strong connection with the local community.
From 16 January to 17 May 2026, the Festival brings life to the Teatro Comunale of Ca’ Savio and Xed urban spaces, offering audiences a cultural journey that connects classical drama, contemporary writing and the language of the body.
All theatre performances are presented in Italian. Dance and performing arts performances, based on physical expression and visual language, are accessible to international audiences and understandable regardless of language.
Artistic Direction by Alessio Nardin
The artistic direction is once again entrusted to Alessio Nardin, a director from Cavallino-Treporti whose professional career is recognised at both national and international level. Nardin has presented his work in numerous international theatrical contexts, has been invited as a speaker in international cultural forums and has served on juries connected to the world of cinema and performing arts.
The Festival also stems from his desire to give something back to his home territory through a structured cultural project, capable of involving established artists, young performers and educational institutions such as Accademia Eleonora Duse and Kalambur Teatro.
A Programme Rich in National Premieres
One of the defining features of the fourth edition is the presence of numerous national premieres, positioning Cavallino-Treporti as an important stage for new theatrical productions. Between January and March, audiences will attend first performances such as Girotondo, ErotiCaos, L’inganno di Shakespeare, Perpetuapax! and Fradeo sol, comare luna, alongside new interpretations of major classics, including Il campiello by Carlo Goldoni.
The programme alternates spoken theatre, dance-theatre performances and multidisciplinary projects, following a coherent curatorial vision while remaining open to diverse artistic languages and audiences.
Renowned Performers and Nationally Acclaimed Productions
Alongside new productions, the Festival hosts leading figures of the Italian theatre scene. Among them are Paolo Hendel, starring in Il contrabbasso by Patrick Süskind, and Leonardo Manera, on stage with Homo modernus, a performance combining comedy with reflection on contemporary life.
The presence of such well-known artists complements the work of companies and performers engaged in research-oriented paths, creating a programme that speaks both to regular theatre-goers and to those approaching theatre for the first time.
Tickets, Subscriptions and info
The Festival offers various ticket and subscription options, with affordable prices and reduced rates for young people, over-65s, members of the municipal library and local cultural and sports associations. Alongside the evening programme, the Festival also includes a parallel programme dedicated to children and families, which will be presented in detail in a separate news item.
La Piazza delle Arti thus confirms itself not only as a theatre festival, but as a widespread cultural project, capable of engaging diverse audiences and accompanying Cavallino-Treporti over several months through a shared journey involving artists, institutions and the local community.
