Living Christmas in Cavallino Treporti
Arte del Presepe: the Nativity trail to explore
Christmas lights up with Arte del Presepe, the widespread trail that runs along the coastline and surprises every year with its variety. Associations, groups and local residents become creators of small scenic installations, giving life to interpretations of the Nativity crafted with different ideas, materials and styles. It is a route that invites visitors to look closer, pause, explore the details and discover the passion behind each stop.
It is also a pleasant way to explore the area during the festive season, moving from one locality to another with the interactive map at hand. Every stop tells a story of the community and makes this itinerary one of the must-see Christmas traditions in Cavallino Treporti.

The Christmas Village: the “Muses and Icons” nativity installation
The Christmas Village returns with this year’s theme, “Muses and Icons”, created by Daniel Marangon Goretti, a well-known figure in the community, appreciated for his ability to transform the Christmas theme into true scenic compositions. His skill comes from a passion nurtured over many years: a constant search for materials, objects, colour harmonies and details that allow him to create rich, carefully designed and instantly recognisable settings.
Visiting this installation means stepping into a world shaped with dedication and creativity, where every element tells a story: an aesthetic choice, a memory, or an idea collected over time through his extensive collection of Christmas objects. It is not a simple display, but a narrative path that invites visitors to look closely, pause, and be drawn into an environment built with artistic sensitivity and thoughtful composition.
The installation is open to everyone and hosted at the Centro Civico in Ca’ Savio, in a covered and heated space suitable for a comfortable visit in any weather. It can be visited daily from 8 December to 12 January, from 3 pm to 7 pm.
The Christmas Village: the Urban Park becomes the heart of the festivities
During the Christmas season, the Urban Park of Cavallino takes on a new rhythm and appearance, transforming into the Christmas Village, a large covered and heated structure where each day brings something different.
The atmosphere is lively and welcoming: with markets, inviting aromas, children’s workshops, a Lego area, themed dinners, dance evenings, concerts and performances, time seems to slow down, leaving room for the pleasure of being together.
The Christmas Village is a place that encourages you to stop by, explore and get involved. Families, groups of friends and visitors find a warm and vibrant meeting spot that is constantly alive.
Santa’s arrivals
This year Santa Claus will once again make his entrance in some very original ways. He will arrive by motorbike, glide along the lagoon in a caorlina, and stop inside the Christmas Town marquee, where he will greet children and collect letters, photos and wishes. A moment enjoyed by both kids and adults, adding a touch of surprise to the festive days.
The Lagoon Nativity
The Lagoon Nativity stretches for about three kilometres along the shallow waters of the Pordelio canal, in one of the most characteristic areas of the lagoon of Cavallino Treporti. Along the shoreline stand hundreds of marine-plywood silhouettes, created and arranged by local volunteers and associations. These essential figures form a continuous sequence that interacts with the water and the surrounding landscape, and can be admired both on foot and by bike along the suspended cycle path.
The Lagoon Nativity changes throughout the day: in the morning the silhouettes stand out clearly against the lagoon, while at sunset colours and reflections create an especially atmospheric scene. The installation is part of the wider Arte del Presepe project, which brings together different interpretations of the Nativity along the coastline and invites visitors to explore the area through creativity, tradition and varied points of view.
