Fishing Permit and License

Sea Fishing

Sea Fishing

To engage in recreational sea fishing, it is mandatory to register free of charge on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (MASAF).
You can access the MASAF reserved area via this link.
After completing the online procedure, the printed confirmation serves as an official “authorization” for recreational and sport fishing at sea.
To learn about specific rules or fishing-restricted areas along the Veneto Adriatic coast, please contact the relevant Port Authorities.

REGULATIONS – Bathing Safety Ordinance by the Jesolo Coast Guard

According to Article 6.2, only recreational fishing with a rod from the beach, piers, groynes, or rock barriers is permitted, and only during nighttime hours, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 AM, provided that access to those areas is not restricted and that nearby waters are not used by swimmers within a 300-meter radius.
If swimmers are present, fishing must be immediately suspended.

Inland Waters Fishing

To fish in the San Felice Canal or the Pordelio Canal, an angling license type B is required.

For citizens residing in Veneto, the fishing license consists of proof of payment of the regional concession fee of €34.00, along with a valid identity document. The license is valid from the date of payment until midnight of the same day the following year. Payment can also be made at a Post Office using a payment slip (bollettino).

Licenses issued in other Italian regions are valid throughout the Veneto Region.

If the angler wishes to fish in waters granted to or managed by angling associations or public entities, they must also hold a valid permit issued by the concession holder, to be presented upon request. Fishing is never allowed in biological rest zones.

Type B license for minors under 18, people over 70, or persons with disabilities
For these categories, if they reside in Veneto, no license is required. It is sufficient to carry an identity document.
Persons with disabilities must also carry a Disability Card, as required by current regulations.

Type B license for Italian citizens residing abroad
For Italian citizens residing abroad, the license consists of proof of payment of the €34.00 regional concession fee, made via a payment slip (bollettino) at an Italian Post Office, together with a valid identity document.

Type D license for foreign citizens residing abroad
Foreign citizens residing abroad may engage in recreational fishing if they hold proof of payment of the €13.00 regional concession fee for a type D license. This license is valid for three months and must be shown together with a valid identity document. Payment can be made via a payment slip (bollettino) at an Italian Post Office.

Fishing in the Sile River

In the Piave Vecchia–Sile area (from the Piave River dam in Musile di Piave to the confluence with the Sile River at Caposile, and continuing to the mouth at Cavallino), exclusive fishing rights apply.

To fish in these stretches, you must hold a valid fishing license plus a specific permit issued by the rights holders, in this case FIPSAS Venezia.
