Voga alla veneta
Anyone who has never glided over the water in a rowing boat cannot know the wonderful feeling of being suspended. Sometimes the sheepskin sky is reflected in the water of the lagoon and you get the impression that you are slaloming through the clouds.
Rowing in the Venetian style is a sport with deep roots in our tradition.
This technique of rowing standing up stems from the need to be able to distinguish shallow waters in order not to get stuck in the mud. It has ancient origins and was used to move around the lagoon and to bring vegetables to Rialto. Whoever arrived first with his boat would get the best place at the market.
A long tradition
As well as being an open-air sport, in direct contact with nature, it allows you to get to know the area from a privileged and unusual point of view, that of the water.
Even in the busiest months, it is possible to find moments of absolute peace in the middle of the lagoon with no one around but the local inhabitants: the birds. A perfect way of entering into symbiosis with a territory.
Ask our oarsmen to teach you the basics. You can take part in international events such as the Voga Longa or the Venice Historical Regatta.
For all tastes
If you don't feel like taking rowing lessons, there is an alternative way to approach the world of rowing in an easier way: canoeing or kayaking. You'll have the advantage of being able to move even where the seabed is shallow, gliding sinuously between the sandbanks and skirting the banks. You can also reach smaller islets such as Rabbit Island and explore them undisturbed.
You will also make the fishermen envious when you tell them about all the bream you saw jumping and risked getting into the canoe.
